Full coverage insurance policies only cover the actual cash value of your vehicle – something that rapidly declines during the first years of ownership. During this time, you could easily owe more on your loan than your car is worth, and more than your full-coverage insurance policy will pay if your car is totaled.
GAP Insurance protects you from financial loss when your vehicle is declared a ‘total loss’ by paying the difference between your primary insurance settlement and the unpaid net balance of your loan. GAP will even cover your insurance deductible, up to $1,000, and is available for both new and used vehicles.
GAP protection is available when you purchase your auto loan and finance it through the credit union. As an added benefit, GAP coverage protects you if your vehicle is stolen or if your vehicle is totaled in an accident. This debt cancellation coverage bridges that GAP between what your insurance coverage may pay and what you actually owe on the vehicle.
Although we all hope life doesn’t throw us any unexpected health problems, we never know what’s around the corner. That’s why Brazos Star offers Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurance, so you and your family can rest easy with the knowledge that your financial obligations may be taken care of in an unexpected emergency.
Credit Life Insurance is designed to pay off the remaining balance on your loan account in the event of your passing during the term of the original loan.
Credit Disability Insurance is designed to pay the monthly payments on your loan account(s) if you become totally disabled and are unable to work during the term of the original loan.
Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurance can be purchased individually, with the cost included in your monthly payments. Each product is purchased per loan, and can be added at any point during the original loan term.
Your purchase of MEMBER’S CHOICE® Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurance, underwritten by CMFG Life Insurance Company is optional and will not affect your application for credit or the terms of any credit agreement required to obtain a loan. Certain eligibility requirements, conditions, and exclusions may apply. Please contact your loan representative, or refer to the Group Policy for a full explanation of the terms.
